🚀 Growing the Brighteye team – 3 new additions welcomed 💪
Hi everyone,
We are proud and delighted to have welcomed three new additions to the Brighteye Ventures team over the past few months. 🎉
Sarah Bertram Smith joined as Associate in October, Hege Tollerud as Head of Community last November, followed by Rhys Spence, Head of Research, in February.
The appointments further enhance our ability to offer bespoke support and value-added services to our growing portfolio of extraordinary EdTech founders and teams, as well as to expand the reach and capabilities of the investment team as we tackle yet more of the European EdTech landscape.
Sarah has 4+ years’ experience working with early-stage startups as an investor and advisor, and previously co-founded a mental health app. Started her career in finance, in Fixed Income Sales & Trading at Citi (4 years)
Hege has 15+ years’ experience in communication, community building, events and media in Norway, the UK and China. Before joining Brighteye, she was the CEO of Oslo EdTech Cluster - a business ecosystem established to support development and growth, commercialisation, profiling and export of Norwegian learning technologies  Â
Prior to joining Brighteye, Rhys spent 3 years as Director of Comms and Engagement at the Education Policy Institute (EPI), leading work on the organisation's impact. He was EPI’s EdTech lead, forming policy and research papers with partners including Apple, Renaissance Learning and the OECD.Â
Sarah, Hege and Rhys are joining Partners Alex Latsis and Benoit Wirz, and Principal David Guérin, doubling the size of the Brighteye team, who are stepping into 2021 with a lot of optimism and ambition in the continued support of startups that impact the future of learning, at every age, helping people across the globe learn and grow!
