Brighteye European EdTech Tour - 🇬🇷 Greece: Is Athens the new Berlin?
🚀How are Greek edtech startups able to go from pre-seed to Series A, seemingly under the radar? What is the key to the numerous successes and rapid growth in this region, awarded European Capital of Innovation by the EU in 2018?
With Greece the #1 OECD country in the world for master’s (or equivalent) degree graduates per capita in natural sciences, maths and stats, low costs of living and great climate, Athens is a nascent but booming centre for European tech. Besides very notable rounds in companies like Persado and Netdata - the quietly bubbling edtech scene in Greece has produced some very significant financing events that have leapfrogged directly to large US PE and VC backers. Hack The Box recently raised $10.6M to expand their cybersecurity training offer. Epignosis was backed by leading US tech PE fund Insight Venture Partners and has 11 million learners using their solutions worldwide.
Brighteye Ventures Managing Partner and Greek national Alex Spiro Latsis speaks to Co-Founder and CEO Haris Pylarinos at Hack The Box and Thanos Papangelis, Co-Founder and CEO at Epignosis, as the Brighteye European Edtech Tour arrives in Greece.
Join us on Wednesday 26 May, 2-3pm GMT!
For the regional (and beyond) VC view, we are happy to be joined by Partner George Tziralis at Marathon Venture Capital and Nikitas Koutoupes, Managing Director at Insight Partners.
🔎 Brighteye will also dig into some trends and characteristics in the Greek EdTech market and landscape.
The event is part of a European Tour 🌍 of virtual visits this spring, exploring different regions and different exciting EdTech companies that share successes, experiences and knowledge in a range of fields related to growing a business 🚀🚀 The idea is to help other EdTech startups and growth companies with some useful advise and learnings 💡💡 on your own journeys.
