ππ New EdTech Report: A Year into the Pandemic
Good morning,
We hope you feel well rested today because we have something new for you: our latest report on how education systems responded to the pandemic and where we are heading!
Now that weβre a year into the pandemic, we decided to explore what happened- what were we missing and where are we heading?
For instance, we were surprised π§ to find that:
French students lost ~30 days of school between March and May 2020, likely to have increased during the Autumn and Spring terms
2 in 5 UK students were learning for 2.5 hours or less / day between March and June 2020
Without effective catch-up programmes, students affected by lost classroom time are expected to experience significant losses to their earnings across their lifetimes

What we were missing: Why werenβt education systems ready for the pivot to distance learning?
Priorities moving forward: What should be the focus of education systems in the period ahead?
Where we are heading: Where do we expect acceleration and mass adoption of edtech across education systems?
As always, if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to reach out π© info@brighteyevc.com.
